Projects we've supported

Callum's story

“Hi, I’m Callum and play a sport called roller hockey. This is played on quad skates. I play for Middlesbrough Roller Hockey Club. Recently I was selected to play for the U17s England team.

There is no funding within the sport itself, so everything is funded by my mother. As I am playing at international, national, regional and club level I am required to travel a lot, including to training in places such as Portugal. I am a goalkeeper in my sport and the kit required is expensive and needs replacing due to damage during play at regular intervals.

I have played in goal since 2009 and I have attended all national training sessions and camps offered to me to enable me to reach the level I have reached. Most recently I played in the U17s Union of European Roller Hockey Championships as part of the U17s England team.

Thank you to the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust without you I would be still training in a kit that was not fit for purpose.”

Leeds Powerchair Football

My name’s Paul Goldman. I am the secretary and the head coach at Leeds Power Chair Football Club. We provide power chair football coaching, and playing opportunities for anyone with a physical disability. We’ve got players that play across a whole range. Everything from recreational to this last weekend, we had our first international full England international.

Thankfully the Sinnott Foundation gave us the resources to be able to purchase a new Powerchair. football is a beautiful game and everyone should be given the opportunity regardless of their ability or in this case disability.

AKA

AKA is a grassroots organization we work with young people and adults mainly from the city of Nottingham, but, further afield as well. We are just trying to get people connected with each other most weeks. We do youth clubs in the evenings, we do a youth club in three or four different areas across Nottingham.

Across Nottingham at the moment there are loads of cuts, it’s the same everywhere else, but so many of our youth centers have been closed. The community is trying to take it upon themselves to fill that void to give young people a safe space, to be children and to play. The Jordan Sinnott Foundation helped us gain some funding. That funding has allowed us to purchase a minibus.

One of the projects that we run is to take young people and adults from the city of Nottingham out into the Peak District National Park. That was initially linked to post-COVID, getting people back out into green spaces and the healing benefits that come with that. Building awareness of the outdoors and, the positive impact it has on people.

I just want to say a massive, thank you to the Jordan Sinnott Foundation. We wouldn’t be able to do the work we do without the support of the Foundation so thank you.

Ape Project

We recently provided a grant for various sports equipment to the APE Project CIC. The APE Project CIC was set up in 2007 by Rachel Davies and Guy Dobson to deliver outreach play activities for schools, community groups, and events.

APE is an acronym for Art, Play, Environment and these are the three key principles that drive their mission to enhance the lives of children and young people through the provision of open access play opportunities and activities. The CIC’s key principles are 100% in line with our own. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to support them.

Middlesbrough FC Foundation

“We are indebted to the The Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust who have donated £5,000 to help us reach young people most in need – not just at Christmas. “All we ask is you spend it wisely” said Middlesbrough FC star Matt Crooks who helped make this happen.

Horizon

“We rely heavily on the financial support we receive from donors and the generosity of charitable trusts such as yourselves, who assist us in our work. Without this, we could not operate, so every penny is very much appreciated and made to work hard! Therefore, please accept a huge thank you again on behalf of the Horizons staff, Trustees, and volunteers, and all these deserving young people of Plymouth.” Annette Molly Fundraiser

Access the dales

Access the dales provides all-terrain wheelchairs to borrow in the Yorkshire dales. Thanks to the generosity of JSFT we now have a new cycle. We are looking forward to creating adventure for young people with disabilities in the Yorkshire Dales.
