Annual Fundraising Cricket Day hosted by Shepley CC

17 Oct 2023

On Sunday, the 20th of August, the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust (JSFT) celebrated its annual fundraising cricket day, hosted by Shepley CC. It was a glorious day filled with cricket and camaraderie. Shepley CC holds a special place in the hearts of the JSFT, with Jordan having visited the club on numerous occasions. In a show of their support, Shepley’s 20/20 cricket kit proudly bears  “SINNOTT 25” on the back of all the shirts.

Notably, the JSFT has formed a strong partnership with Shepley CC, with trustees Al, Joe, and Jon being regulars at the club. It is with immense pride that we announce the JSFT’s role as Shepley’s main shirt sponsor for the 2024 season, strengthening the bond between the charity and the club.

The other three teams participating in the event have also been continuous supporters of our charity, driven by their knowledge of how much it means to organiser Al. These teams, comprising a group of dedicated lads, gave their all to compete for the coveted Big Red Trophy.

Here’s a glimpse of how the teams fared at our Annual Fundraising cricket day:

  • In the first semi-final, Shepley faced off against Honley. Honley emerged victorious, thanks to some impressive ball striking by Charlie Jakeman.
  • In the second semi-final, Golcar took on Scholes, with our Ambassador Duane Holmes showcasing his skills once again. Scholes emerged as the victors in this exciting match-up.
  • The final, featuring Scholes and Honley, witnessed Scholes posting a substantial score that proved too challenging for Honley to chase down.

Our Trustee from across the pond, Jon Stead, made a return to work, taking charge of the BBQ alongside his wife Liz, and our Trustee Joe tended to the nearby bar. Both stalls were a resounding success, contributing significantly to our fundraising efforts for the JSFT.

Trustees from Jordan’s hometown of Bradford made the journey across West Yorkshire to ensure the smooth running of the raffle and bouncy castle. We were thrilled to discover that the raffle alone raised nearly £3000, a truly remarkable achievement. Jordan’s incredible Mum and Foundation Chair, Mel, oversaw the raffle and silent auction, leaving no stone unturned in encouraging contributions. We also welcomed our newest Ambassador, Chloe, whose infectious smile made it impossible for anyone to resist purchasing our Sinnott 25 pin badges.

Throughout the day, music filled the air, accompanied by lively commentary and updates from Trustee Crooksy.

Thank you to everyone who participated or supported the event. We are already excited for next year’s gathering, as we continue to honour Jordan’s memory and continue the work of the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust.
